With the sun moving to it’s southern most declination, as it moves (ingresses) into the sign of Capricorn, this is the summer/winter solstice, depending on where you are in relation to the equator. Solstice actually means ‘sun standing still’, and this is what the sun appears to do for a couple of days, as it turns to head northward again – from our perception.
Throughout man’s history the four major markers of the sun’s journey were celebrated in some form or another and many cultures and belief systems still follow this practice.
The Solstices represent the shortest and longest days of the year, where there is the most diffenerce between day and night hours. The Equinoxes, which mark the half way points in this annual journey, are when the sun is in line with the equator and we have equal hours of daylight and darkness.
The Christmas tree actually began as a way to bring the sun back to the cold northern hemisphere. Candles were placed on a tree brought inside the house, which were then lit as encouragement to the sun and to guide it back north. For the individual, this day marks the beginning of renewal for Capricorn and also bodes positively for Taurus and Virgo for the next month.
There is some rather explosive energy about with this Ingress and all would be advised to take extra care on the road and please don’t drink and drive.
There could be an increase in terrorist and other violent activity, unfortunately, but that is the energy of the chart which holds for the next 3 months.
Australia’s east coast is particularly vulnerable and the already disastrous bush fire season looks to get worse, along with intense storms.
On an individual level, those born early December, March, June and September should be especially careful over the festive season and indeed until the ides of March. Avoid conflict and be extra vigilant when driving.
