2008 looks set to go off with a bang. The change of year from 2007 to 2008 is accompanied by a particularly volatile combination of Pluto, Jupiter and Mars. While Mars and Pluto face off every couple of years, adding Jupiter to the mix can only occur at the most once in 12 years. In fact these 3 planets have only been in such close contact in this same configuration 5 times in the past 400 years. in point of fact this is only the 9th time in over 1000 years that we have seen this combination and it won’t occur again for another 100 years. This does make it rather significant but what does it all mean?
Mars is the warrior planet and as such represents the combative energy. When he is active there can be an escalation in aggressive acts and this is both on the personal and global front. These two in combination are considered one of the most violent and explosive combinations, astrologically speaking. They also tend to herald an increase in violent weather conditions such as fires, earthquakes and volcanic activity. Add Jupiter to the mix and you have an intensification of both, by virtue of its inclination to inflate anything it comes into contact with. It is an explosive energy and with the Middle East ready to detonate again, along with a few other tense areas on the globe, there is likely to be an increase in armed conflicts and terrorist activity. In the past this mix has coincided with the first explosion of a hydrogen bomb at Bikini Atoll and at an earlier meeting the original Covent Garden Theatre in London was destroyed by a fire, along with most of the scenery, costumes and scripts. With the Full Moon of December 24 2007 triggering this configuration, it may not be a very merry or peaceful Christmas. When there is a major configuration in the heavens it creates a sensitive spot that resonates for some time after. This will be reactivated several times in 2008. Between March and April can be difficult and at each of the Solstices and Equinoxes during the year it will also be reignited. Areas that are receiving this energy on their own sensitive points and require closer attention are (in alphabetical order) Angola, Bali, Barbados, Belize, Iceland, Iran, Iraq, Poland, Russia, Rwanda, Sudan, Surinam, Timor and Uzbekistan. Now while this may seem to be a large list, in terms of the number of nations it is a fairly average number of places to run into difficulty in a given year. These areas can be the source or on the receiving end of violent weather patterns, major political upheaval, terrorism or open warfare. The USA is another nation that, while already perhaps having had its share of violence, both natural and man made is likely to be in for much more over the coming year.
There can also be some trouble around the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing but I see this more as administrative problems than any violence. But someone’s head may be on the chopping block. For Australian Prime Ministerial hopeful, Kevin Rudd, win, lose or draw the election, this is not looking to be a positive time for him. I am aware that most of the pundits are handing him the election on a plate but I have to say what I have been seeing is not so clear cut and I think this election will be a very tight one. I think there is a lot of confusion among voters and many will not make their decision until they put the cross in the box on Election Day. I also think that it may be a total outsider, such as Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck that may end up with the highest number of votes as voters decide they don’t want any of the choices available. On a
personal note those most affected by the energy will be those born near
the 24th of March, June, September and December. If this is you or someone
you know it is best to avoid any form of conflict and perhaps take a speed
course in yoga or meditation. © S. Dalby 30/10/07 Articles are being added regularly so
