Also called the Buffalo, the Ox is systematic and traditional, with enormous internal fortitude and perseverance. He/she espouses the work ethic believing that nothing is gained from idle wishing. Their patient and inexhaustible approach suits them for positions of responsibility which they dutifully assume, eventually assuming the mantle of authority. They abhor disorganization or slackness and like to tie up all loose ends with a definite strategic plan. The Ox is fixed and disciplinarian in approach. Their determination can become stubborn 'bull headedness' on some issues. They do not like to yield, believing a display of strength is a character asset. Adolf Hitler and Saddham Hussein are typical examples, along with the 'Iron Lady' Margaret Thatcher and Kerry Packer. Whilst they don't make the best foreign diplomats, the Ox is an excellent family sign as they approach life from a long range perspective generally. Oxen appear non demonstrative, have scant regard for the social life, and enjoy their privacy. Despite their sincerity they can be unlucky in love, as they are better off following their head than their heart, e.g. Princess Diana. In partnership the flashy Rooster will excite the Ox as will the wise Snake and acquisitive Rat. He/she is best avoiding the Tiger, Sheep and Monkey.
