Actor Peter Falk in his television character Columbo espouses many of the Rabbit's characteristics. They don't miss much, naturally taking a mental inventory of any situation and reminding you the bus ticket is on the bread-bin, after you claim that you've been home all day. The cool analytical mind is not meant to antagonise or reprimand as the Rabbit avoids confrontation wherever possible. They are no bunnies but prefer to intellectually calm the savage beast and are models of diplomacy with liking for order.

The Rabbit enjoys luxury and refinement and self-appreciation. They need security and an operating base to call home and treasure their four wall surrounds.
A lovely Chinese cultural legend concerns the Moon Hare standing under the Cassia tree holding the Elixir of Immortality. At the mid-Autumn moon children carry paper lanterns in the shape of a rabbit to honour this creature, associating the Rabbit sign with longevity.
Rabbits mix well with Sheep, Dogs and Pigs, but are hopeless amongst Tigers, Roosters and Rats.
