The normally gentle sheep is a lover of children and animals and a sentimental character, known as the most feminine of the signs. This is due to a natural reticence and mannered approach. Easily offended but with an aversion to confrontation, which can result in a sulky Sheep erecting a wall of silence. Most people think well of the Sheep's temperate nature. The Chinese recognise the Sheep as the eighth sign of the wheel meaning prosperity and good fortune. They say he/she will always have the three basic commodities of food, shelter and clothing. Born under a fortunate sign they will receive favours from others and inherit property or finances. Rupert Murdoch's face belies a impregnable determination which the Sheep has in reserve, whilst Mikhail Gorbachev and Paul Keating display the ram with steel wool. However the mainstream sensitive variety has resulted in artists and artisans from Sir Laurence Olivier to Mel Gibson. Whilst remembering anniversaries and birthdates paradoxically, they are hardly ever on time and show marked traits of eccentricity. Most Sheep need a course in credit management and self-denial, in China it is said, "they eat paper," a term for wasting money. Sheep can be a soft touch for the sob story for no sign has a more sympathetic ear. They are also quiet adept at spinning the tear-jerker themselves and manipulating others to do their bidding. Sheep make it a point to marry well (Liz Taylor?) and tend to smother mother their partners. They are attracted to Rabbits, Pigs and Horses but should bypass the Rat, Ox and Dog.
