The Snake is a revered creature of intuitive and mystic wisdom in the east. Consider such famous names as John F. and Jacqueline Kennedy, Abraham Lincoln, Moa Tse Tung, and Ferdinand Marcos and one gets the impression that power plays a part too. Many transformational leaders have been born under this sign. The Snake can wind his way through and around many a tight predicament and is also the only creature to completely shed its skin. Bob Hawke is a perfect example of their serpentine adaptability. They are masters of the disguised intention. The indirect approach is characteristic of the sagacious Snake. They are also the deepest thinkers of the twelve signs, which can be both a strength and a weakness. A propensity for the mental side of life can occasionally deplete the nervous system and exhaust the serpent. Although they can do without, better than most, it's generally not for long. Living in a hair shirt is usually for a purpose as the Snake gravitates toward riches with prevalence as did J.Paul Getty, Howard Hughes and Aristotle Onnassis. Many seek the serpent's advice because of their wisdom and presence of mind (even humour) in times of crisis. Snakes are not only among the best counsellors, but they are also a well of secrets: many their own. Preferring privacy the Snake makes an enchanting and hypnotic partner, although the sensuous reptile is noted for a roving eye. It may eventually settle on the strong Ox or colourful Rooster, but Tigers and Pigs are a no-no and two Snakes should not live together.
